Nigerian-Ire Kommunity Waterford is a community of Nigerians in Diaspora established in 2010. We officially registered in 2017 with the Irish government via CRO as a designated activity company limited by guarantee (DAC).
We promote the following objectives: encourage the protection of Nigerian unity, interests and rights in Waterford, and Ireland in general, equality of all us as humans in all forms, and advocate against any form of discrimination that may be meted out to Nigerians based on the nine grounds established in the Irish Employment Equality Act of 1998; liaise and cooperate with statutory and non-statutory authorities on matters relating to the welfare of Nigerians in Ireland; promote patriotism, good sense of responsibility amongst Nigerians with a view to projecting a positive image for Nigerians as a whole; actively encourage our participation in the socio economic and political development of our host country, Ireland; foster closer cooperation among Nigerians in Waterford with the view to foster unity and greater understanding; performs charitable duties within our capacity and reach out to the needy, vulnerable individuals or groups in the society irrespective of their race, religion, gender, or political affiliation; encourage celebration of Nigerian cultural values, traditions, sense of discipline and moral uprightness without violating the laws of the host country; and organise conferences, seminars, lectures and workshops for enlightenment and sensitisation of Nigerians on how to discourage dangerous tendencies amongst Nigerians e.g. alcoholism, use of drugs, prostitution, human trafficking and various societal issues
